Not again… I’ve been listening to Hip-Hop religiously for 20 years. And about 5 years ago I started getting into rock and discovered some really cool bands. Two bands became my favorites, Voxtrot, and you guys. First Voxtrot broke up and while I was sad, I took comfort in knowing The Answering Machine would keep pumping out albums for quite some time, being that you guys were so young. But I guess not.

Thank you for all your music… you have been with me during good and bad times. Your two albums will always remain in my player. I have taken you guys on so many trips with me, and your music has been played in my car through remote places in Mexico where people don’t even speak English. I’ve traveled cross-country on a train with your music flowing through my headphones when I had no clue where I was going to end up. And you guys were there everyday as well on my way to work, whether I was going in at 5 in the morning or at 12 at night, driving to work on empty streets with your music blasting through my speakers.

I really hate that I will never see you guys live… it actually pains me to know that… I missed you guys the last time you played in L.A. and that really sucks.

Alright guys this will take a bit. I saw you guys at the Red House pizzeria in Austing during SXSW this year. It meant a huge amount to get a picture with you all there. I was planning on going to Manchester to see you guys this july. Too bad it wont be. I was the one in the Barca jersey. I’m really sad to hear this but i still hope the best for you.

Dear The Answering Machine,
I really wish I got to see you perform live. This is a hard one to take because you were definitely by far my favorite artists. I remember the first time I heard you guys, and boy did I fall in love quickly. I listen to you day in and day out and still feel that joy that I felt the first time. I wish you all the best in your future endeavors and I thank you for the amazing music you put out. You will always have a special place in my heart.
